King David School Parent Teacher Association

King David School has a very active PTA. In the past it has organised quiz nights, fashion evenings, discos, coffee mornings, souvenir tea-towels, calendars, art exhibitions and summer fairs. Last summer's fair was hugely successful, raising over £1,000! In December, we held a quiz night, which was a terrific amount of fun!

The PTA raises money for the school, as well as providing opportunities for parents to meet. It has contributed towards a data projector, which is regularly used in the hall for presentations, and a climbing frame for the Foundation Stage. The PTA has recently bought wet-playtime games for all classes, and a PA sound system for assemblies and school concerts. The PTA has also supported the Outdoor Education Project, with all hands to work for the Big Dig, as well as purchasing the chalet.

The PTA has most recently raised money for a "Year of Culture" - we intend to send all children to the theatre or a similar cultural event!

Our future fundraising will be in order to replace the hall curtains. We are also looking forward to celebrating 50 years of the King David School at its present site in Moseley!

This year's annual PTA Go- Karting event, in conjunction with Teamworks Birmingham, will take place on Sunday 18th May 2014, which is also the happy Jewish festival of Lag B'Omer - another great reason for a fun family outing. It's sure to be a huge hit, plus Teamworks Karting are generously donating all proceeds to the King David PTA. Teamworks have now also got karts suitable for children, as long as they are at least 140cm tall (usually about 8 years old and above). It would be great to have many children of the Upper Phase competing against one another, or even trying to beat their parents and teachers! Shorter/younger spectators are welcome – there are trackside games and a trackside café. The event takes place on Sunday 18th May, from 12pm until 3pm, and costs £14 per child or adult, for two race sessions. To book, visit: and search for 18th May at Birmingham, entering discount code KDSK.
