PTA news for 2015

Welcome to the King David School PTA
On behalf of the King David School PTA (Parent Teacher Association) I would like to invite all parents and guardians to become involved with the PTA. The PTA exists to enhance and enrich the experience of pupils and the school and to develop closer relationships between parents and staff. Funds raised by the PTA assist in the provision of facilities and activities for the school which would go above and beyond that provided by the Local Authority. We welcome all parents and guardians of pupils in the school to get involved and do a little bit to support the school and your child's education. So please if you have ideas on what events we can organise, what you would like us to raise funds for, or can offer a bit of time, please come and find me - I'm mum of Thomas in Y2 so can usually be found hanging out at the left-hand-end of the playground at the start and end of school!

Events for 2015
2015 looks to be getting off to a busy start as we have a number of activities planned including a Purim disco, bake sale, film night and of course the annual Teamworks Karting event! We do hope all the pupils will be able to participate in as many of these activities as possible and would welcome any support parents are able to offer to ensure their success.

50th Anniversary Celebrations (September 2015 – July 2016)
Looking even further ahead we are already planning a range of events and activities to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of King David School on the current site that takes place in the next academic year (September 2015 – July 2016). During the year the PTA will be working hard to bring together not only the current school community but the alumni who attended King David over the last 50 years. If you have links to alumni please let them know that activities are being planned and ask them to check the new website for details of the activities (
In the Autumn Term there will be a Chanukah exhibition and concert in school to which we will be welcoming all current parents and pupils and their families as well as all alumni to come and experience the school now and reflect back over the 50 years.
In the Spring Term there will be a Best of King David Concert where we will be showcasing the talents of King David School past and present in a celebratory concert in a professional performance venue in Birmingham!
The Summer Term will see the activities return to the School and there will be an expanded summer gala event.
More details will be released in the months to come via the newsletter and website so please do check these for further details.
We hope you all share our excitement for these events. We believe they will be a great opportunity not only for the parents, pupils and teachers to work together to celebrate this exciting anniversary but also to be able to welcome in alumni from the last 50 years of the school. It will give us the opportunity to reflect on how the school has evolved and developed over the last 50 years and challenge us to think about what the next 50 years will bring to the school and how we can impact on this.
We would welcome all support from parents to help make these events a success, so please do let us know if you can assist either in the planning of events or just lending a hand on the day – every little helps as they say.
We look forward to an exciting and action packed time ahead.
