Parent Forum at King David School

“Where Stars Shine”

The Parent Forum is a group of parent representatives who meet once a term to discuss school-related issues.

Regular, open communication and consultation with parents is very important to the school. The Parent Forum provides a valuable way to listen to your ideas and concerns and seek your views, helping to make sure the needs of children and their families are met.

Parent Forum to be established with the following Terms of Reference:

Membership

Two representatives per class - by nomination

Two Parent Governors - ex officio

One member of staff - (deputy head)

One other Governor - (max)

The chair to be elected, normally, from the class representatives.

Meetings to be held normally once a term.

Areas for possible involvement/ discussion/responsibilities

Preparation of school development plan

School uniform

Parking

Safety of children

School clubs

Funding for specific projects

Proposals from staff for increased parental involvement.

Responding to OFSTED reports

Web page for the school

Preparation of minutes/notes of meetings for circulation to parents, staff and governors

Excluded Areas

Individual children’s problems

Complaints against staff

Changes to the School’s Constitution, e.g. Jewish Ethos
