Gymnastics competition

On 25th November 2014, 6 children from Year 3 and 4 will be entering a gymnastics competition at Bishop Challoner School. The team will be a mix of boys and girls and will include children from both year groups. The children will have to complete a basic floor routine and a vault. Judging will be done by qualified judges and coaches from Fusion Gymnastics Club and the winning school will progress on to the Birmingham Winter School Games Finals on 11th February 2015.

Any children interested in competing in this competition, need to be able to do a forward roll, backward roll and a cartwheel. In addition to this, they need to be in either Year 3 or 4 and be able to attend the competition after school on the 25th November. If your child is interested please see Mrs Poole after half term for a trial.

Thank you.

This morning Mr McDermott from Bishop Challoner Catholic College attended assembly to award last years' Bronze Ambassadors with an award. King David Primary School has been awarded a Bronze Award in the Sainsburys' School Games Mark. The Mark rewards schools for their commitment to, and development of, PE, school sports clubs and competitions. This Mark award recognises the hard work that all the staff at King David School have undertaken to ensure all young people have access to a wide breadth of sports opportunities within the school.

Our Bronze Ambassadors

This week we are appointing two new Year 5 Bronze Ambassadors to our help our pupils to achieve their sporting potential.

The role of a Bronze ambassador is: to be a positive role model within school, to help increase participation in PE and School Sport, to promote the positive values of sport and the School Games Values and to be a young person’s voice on PE and School Sport within King David School.
