Yom Hashoah

It is said that if we held a moment of silence for every victim of the Holocaust, we would be silent for eleven and a half years.

At school we marked Yom Hashoah with a special assembly where we remembered the victims of the Holocaust and learned about the bravery of one young woman named Hannah Szenes who lost her life while attempting to fight against the attrocities that were going on. She expressed her feelings in a most moving poem ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkjsqUQSrhE). We were also honoured to hear the beautiful music of the Holocaust played by 3 of our own pupils accompanied by Mrs Bryett and Stuart Izon, a former King David pupil.

Children learned how they will be the decision makers of tomorrow and it will be up to them to make sure that we have a kind world where such atrocities never happen.
