Week 6 Highlights 13.12.19

What an incredible end to our WW2 Topic! A huge well done to the Y5 children throughout this term. They have put so much effort into their work both inside and outside of the classroom. ‘VE Day’ took place on Thursday and it was fantastic to see displayed all of the work children have been completing. I am so proud of each and every child!

Our favourite moments…

v  In English this week, we were learning about setting descriptions. We have been thinking about our senses and how they can help create imagery in our writing. In addition to this, we have explored the metaphors and similes which can be used to further create that image in the readers mind.

v  In Maths, we have been learning about square numbers. The children have been learning how to represent these numbers using arrays too.

v  Remember…

1. Homework has been set and is due on Wednesday’s. (Remember no spelling sentences this week but please practise the statutory spelling list for your test next week)

2. Please ensure your child brings their planner on Monday as their weekly spelling test will be recorded in there.

3. Doughnut making (Monday 16th December 2019 at 2:00pm) letters have gone out. Please return the slips if you are able to attend.

4. Chanukah Fun Day. Remember it is non-school uniform and to dress in bright colours.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Webley and Miss Begum
