Holiday homework Year 2 Spring

Holiday homework!

Firstly, I would like to say a very big thank you to all the Year 2 parents for the beautiful flowers.  I am truly humbled and really appreciate this gesture.  Thank you also for the support with helping your child to learn/practise their lines and costumes.

Secondly, your child has made a clock.  Please note the clock has two halves:  past the hour and to the hour.  Please help your child learn the time over the holiday break.  The ones they must know are: o'clock, quarter-past, half-past, quarter-to and to 5 minutes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Thank you and have an enjoyable break.

Y1/Y2 Lego workshop

Year 1 and 2 have had an amazing morning contributing with their creations to build a lego city.  They showed wonderful creativity, great teamwork and learned some important DT skills along the way.  This has fitted very well with Year 2's topic learning on Katie Morag and The Great Fire of London.  Enjoy the pictures:20180308 093806   20180308 093838  20180308 093946

Song Words:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5eVlKWSHAA

Early in the morning at 1 am
As London Town was sleeping
A tiny spark lit the dark
And the fire came a-creeping

Thomas woke to thick black smoke
He'd never seen such a thing
They lay the blame on Pudding Lane
And the baker to the King
He set it on fire
Burnt it all down
Is that the end of London Town?
It's covered in flames
Like kindling sticks
September 1666

At the Star inn on Fish Street Hill
The landlord stood a- weeping
As the wind it blew ,the sparks they flew
And the flames they started leaping
The streets were so thin they couldn't do a thing
To stop that fire from spreading
For three more days it blazed and blazed
It was a nightmare they'd been dreading

Set it on fire
Burnt it all down
Is that the end of London town?
Gone up in flames
Like kindling sticks
September 1666
I wish it was raining and pouring (rpt)
Poor old London Town
Set it on fire
Burnt it all down
Is that the end of London town?
Gone up in flames
Like kindling sticks
September 1666

Thank you for all your supprt.

Mrs Nazir
