Week 5 Highlights 7.2.20

A huge welcome to our trainee teacher Mr Mohammed who will be working in Y5 until the end of term!

Our favourite moments…

  • - In English this week, we completed our very own persuasive letters including all of the key features as well as the relevant SPaG for Y5. Today, the children practised their speaking and listening by reading aloud some of their fantastic ideas. I must say I am super impressed by what I have heard so far and cannot wait to read through them!
  • - In Maths, we have been learning about multiplication. We have learned about multiplying 4 digits by 1 digit and multiplying 4 digits by 2 digits. Recapping our place value has supported us developing this skill even further.
  • - In Art, we have been exploring some of M.C Escher's work and developed our printing skills when we created our own tessellations.
  • - Remember…
  • 1.Homework has been set, however as it is a project it is not due until the 26th February 2020. I will expect the reading homework to be completed by this date too.
  • 2.Spelling sentences are due on Wednesday 12th February 2020. (Remember to do the spellings linking to homophones and near homophones e.g. principle and principal)
  • 3.. Please ensure your child brings their planner on Monday as their weekly spelling test will be recorded in there.
  • 4. Swimming on Monday's- don't forget your kit.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Webley and Miss Begum

Reception working hard on their phonics.
