Mrs Halter’s Cooking Corner  

It’s Thursday morning again so let’s do some cooking. I thought you would like to have a go at vegetarian burgers, they are delicious and fun to make.

Remember to get a grown up to help you.

Ingredients 

400g tin kidney beans x2
300g cooked mashed veg such as carrots, potato, squash or sweet potato
2 tbsp sunflower/Olive or vegetable oil
Squeeze lemon juice
Pinch ground cumin and coriander
4 tbsp breadcrumbs or crushed crackers for coating(optional)
Burger buns
Salad to decorate


Mash the beans as much as you can in a bowl.

Add the mashed vegetables and herbs.

Mix well add lemon juice and spices.

Roll into small balls, flatten slightly and coat in breadcrumbs

Place on a baking tray and drizzle with oil.

Place in oven  gas mark 4 / 180 Celsius for 20 mins
